Travel Guard insurance with Budget Rental Car

We are planning to rent a car in England through Budget Car Rentals. Rick recommends using Travel Guard for insurance as their deductible is lower and the coverage is better. Has anyone used Travel Guard with Budget and if so have there been any problems? Thanks in advance for all your help.

Thanks, Steve. We usually get CDW from the car rental company. But after reading about Travel Guard, we wanted to look at that option. We now know the procedure and while we have never had any damages in our previous trips, we like to have the best coverage just in case. Thanks once again for the info

Steve seems to have withdrawn his advice. For a nation which is covered by your credit card (and the UK is except for Northern Ireland), why not just let the credit card cover it for no charge? The only exclusion would be for tires and windshields. I rent a lot of cars and haven't ever had those head south.

Yes, he seems to have deleted his post.
Thanks for the info Ed. I will call our card company to verify just in case. Thanks for your advice again.

Travel Guard is great-if you need coverage. (We found out our card didn't cover as well as we'd like and bought additional coverage through them for $30.)

Thanks for the tip, Angela. We usually get CDW but were considering Travel Guard. However in the meantime we called Budget and were told for 11 Pounds a day we could get a super CDW. The deductible is 100 Pounds and the coverage is more than enough. So we will most likely go with that as we then will have to deal with Budget directly and not have to worry about reimbursement from Travel Guard.
