Hi. We are heading to Italy next week and to Paris from there. I am trying to book an overnight train with sleeper from Verona to Paris. I found a route that fits our itinerary on DB Bahn website, but It will not let me book it online. I have tried calling their customer service, but have been unable to get an english speaking representitive. Do you know how I can book this ticket. Please help .
Trenitalia will book the ticket, as will Thello, the operator of that train.
I tried the trenitalia website, and the train I am looking for doesn't show as an option. Here is the route I would like to purchase: Verona Porta Nuova Su, 26.08.12 dep 21:24 EN 220 EuroNight Dijon Ville Mo, 27.08.12 arr 06:29 Transfer time 32 min. Adjust the transfer time Dijon Ville Mo, 27.08.12 dep 07:01 TGV 6700 TGV Duplex
Paris Lyon Mo, 27.08.12 arr 08:37 The only option I see on the trenitalia website doesn't arrive in Paris until 11am. Thanks for the help.
Did you try Thello as Randy suggested? They show you arriving in Paris at 9:29 am, without changing trains in Dijon. The route you found on bahn.de has you switch to a TGV at Dijon, requiring a separate ticket that Trenitalia can't sell.
Trenitalia won't sell you tickets for routes entirely outside of Italy. If you want to get off the night train in Dijon and take a TGV from there to Paris, you will need to make separate bookings: Verona-Dijon on the Trenitalia site and Dijon-Paris on tgv-europe.com. You'll have to decide if saving a couple of hours is worth the extra money and the inconvenience of changing trains. I just checked both the Trenitalia site and the Thello site and found that the direct night train indeed is scheduled to arrive at 10:56 on 27 August.
Tim is correct about the arrival time. I was looking at the wrong date, in September.
