Travel from Venice to London

Am looking for suggestions on getting from Venice to London via plane (quickly, inexpensively, relatively hassle-free). Ideas, please :)

Janet,, when is your trip. On Easyjet they have fares as low as 30 euros , depending on how far in advance you booked( I looked at May). Even with extra fees for luggage, paying with cc etc. and the money to get to and from airport, thats pretty darn cheap. Note, fares go up closer to travel date, so if this is for sooner fares may be higher, and fares vary from day to day, so look at fares for several days before and after if your plans are flexible. Its about a two hour flight. Even with time getting to and from airport its the fastest way between Venice and London.

Thanks. Looked briefly at both easyjet and skyscanner and they looked like the best options.

Make sure you also check the price of British Airways. Sometimes the discount airlines like easyjet look cheaper but you have to add in the applicable fees to be sure. For example, easyjet charges and admin fee, a fee for using a credit card, and a fee for checking a bag. BA does not charge any of these fees. I have found that sometimes BA is just as cheap as easyJet.

Janet, In terms of "relatively hassle free", one thing you should be aware of is that most of the budget airlines in Europe have fairly "restrictive" baggage limits. I've found that it's a good idea to estimate the weight of my checked bag and pay for the appropriate weight at the time of booking. If the staff find luggage over the limit at the time of check-in, the cost will be much higher. One other point to note is that many of the airlines in Europe only allow ONE carry-on item. That doesn't mean "one plus a personal item such as a purse or Laptop case", in means one only of the approved size (and they do often check the size). I prefer to use EasyJet whenever possible, and have always been pleased with the service. As the others have mentioned, there are some extra "fees", but the prices are still fairly cheap. Happy travels!
