travel from Venice to Lauterbrunnen & Lauterbrunnen to Zurich

We are thinking about purchasing the Swiss Flexipass Saver for 3 days: staying 2 days in Luterbrunnen and using the pass for surrounding areas. Would it be best to use one of the 3 days to travel to Lauterbrunnen from Venice or from Luterbrunnen to Zurich?

Purely a guess here, but you should really look at a Swiss Card. It will give you transport from the Swiss border to Lauterbrunnen on your trip from Venice. On you last day it will gve you free transport from Lauterbrunnen to Zurich. In between those dates all other travel is discounted 50%. http://www.swisstravelsystem.com/produkttexte.php?passid=4

No Swiss pass will cover you from Venice to the Swiss border unless you buy the Swiss pass or card in Domodossola (still in Italy) which is unlikely. Second, if you buy your ticket from an Italian train station (i.e. Venice), you can buy a ticket from Venice to Interlaken Ost but not Venice to Lauterbrunnen. The Italian system cannot see or book you into the Lauterbrunnen Valley. We ran up against exactly the same thing when we traveled from Venice to Lauterbrunnen. Not a problem, however. Simply book your ticket to Interlaken Ost. Then, go into the little station there and arrange your trip on the local Jungfraubahn train for the 20 minute ride into Lauterbrunnen.

If you are considering going up the Schilthorn or the Jungfrauhoch, I suggest you investigate which passes give discounts for these trips. We got a discount on the expensive trip to the Jungfrauhoch, but don't recall which pass we had at the time. Have a good trip.
