Travel from Tuscany to Dordogne

Hi,
I will be in Europe next summer with a group of 6 friends. At one point in our travels we need to get from Tuscany to the Dordogne area in France. Any ideas on the quickest and most stress free way to do this? Thanks.

Hi Christine,
Our daughter and I did this the 31 May and it wasn't too frustrating! We took the train from Florence to Pisa Airport to catch the 14:35 Easyjet flight, due to arrive at 16:10 at Paris Orly--but which was 2 hours late! We then stayed 1 night in Paris and caught the (pre-purchased) TGV to Sarlat.
I had tried to find flights to Bordeaux instead but didn't like the price or connections.

Darcy gives good advice. Here are two more options:

  1. Take the train to Milan and fly easyJet directly from Malpensa to Bordeaux. Take the train to wherever you need to go in the Dordogne. Note: Currently easyJet doesn't fly this route every day. Things may change, of course, by next summer.

  2. Fly Pisa-London Gatwick and London Gatwick-Bordeaux on easyJet. With budget airlines you have to book separate tickets. These are not connecting flights. Again, the schedule may change by next summer.

With budget airlines the earlier you book the cheaper the fare. Early next spring go to skyscanner.com and do a search. That's how I found the above routes.
