Is it best to tour the chateaux around Tours by car? Considering travel by car from Tours to Bayeux and then Versailles. Is it best to drop car in Versailles or drive into Paris?

A car makes sense for both the Tours area and Bayeux. Drop the darn thing at Versailles; you can probably train in just about as fast and, unless you really know the city, when driving in, it's really hard to hit your target. If the plans change (not sure how you were getting to Tours), driving out is a snap.
