We will be traveling to Spain this August to visit Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Granada, and Barcelona. I have arranged transportation between all these cities except from Toledo to Seville. Since AVE does not run between these 2 cities, I was looking into taking the bus but have had difficulty making bus reservation with ALSA.It seems that ALSA does not have service from Toledo to Seville. What is the fastest way to make this trip? Thanks.
'What is the fastest way to make this trip?' By AVANT and AVE train, Toledo to Madrid to Seville. The bus service is with this company http://www.socibus.es/html/es/rutas_y_horarios/ from Madrid to Seville and will not improve.
There are no direct trains, but it's 35 minutes to Madrid Puerta de Atocha, where you can get a direct train to Seville. If you pick your departure time carefully to avoid a long wait in Madrid then you can do the whole trip in under 4 hours.
We did it by train and it was easy, fast and pleasant. The train from Toledo comes into the same station and area that the AVE for Sevilla will depart from, so there are no transfer issues. You cannot, however, just walk from one train to the other across the platform---you have to exit the platform and go around to board through the secure area. So be sure to leave 20-30 minutes between trains. And buy your AVE tickets in advance on Renfe to get the excellent Promo fares.
