Our cruise drops us at South Hampden port and we need dependable yet affordable transportation to Heathrow for a flight to Dublin. Ideas?? Carole
Train to London; (the train used to leave directly from the docks); heathrow Express or Connect from London to heathrow. if you dont have much luggage you could take Piccadilly tube from London to heathrow, but is a pain with luggage.
Carole: The National Express coach will take you to Heathrow from Southampton (note spelling). Go to www.londontoolkit.com/travel/heathrow_southampton.html for all the details. Or you can do what I do and contact Ray Skinner at london-transfers.com. He will pick you up at the dock and deliver you to your terminal at Heathrow.
The trains from Southampton to London arrive at Waterloo station and the Heathrow Connect/Express leaves from Paddington, so you have to travel between the stations by tube. If you don't want to get the National Express all the way, as I don't know how many coaches there are and if their times fit, another option is to get the train to Woking and a more frequent Nation Express coach from there.
There is another option if you haven't yet purchased your tickets to Dublin.....fly nonstop from Southampton Airport to Dublin on Flybe.
