In your book you suggest bus as being quicker than the train. How can I find bus schedules as I think I have to change and need to cordinate times I am traveling on May 22,2011
robert,

"In your book you suggest bus as being quicker..." robert, To clarify any confusion, this helpline is provided by ETBD, but all contributors are volunteers from around the world who enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience. As far as I know, there are no employees of ETBD, or Rick Steves himself (choir of angels heard afar) on this helpline.
thank you for your response. Do you have any idea whether I should try the bus on May,22 (sunday) or use the train to get to Assisi from Siena?
Robert,
Check the sena schedule to S.MARIA DEGLI ANGELI which is right below Assisi then see http://217.141.151.2/orari/urbani_minori/pdf/MAS0C.pdf
I wanted to take the bus from Siena to Assisi to try to save some time on a Saturday. But the bus did not leave until almost 5pm, which wouldn't have saved me any time leaving so late in the day. This was in December. So we ended up taking the train. Not sure if in the high season another bus runs from Siena to Assisi. The bus no longer takes you into the actual city but the Assisi city bus will zip you on up in no time.
