travel from seville, spain to italy

next summer my family is flying to spain to pickup our daughter who's studying in seville. we want to see a bit of spain, but then head to italy. we want to spend most of our time (7 days) in rome, but also are thinking about firenze, & cinque terre. what's the best way to get from spain to italy (costs/efficiency, etc.) ? or are we trying to do too much? would it be better to just do 10 days in either spain or italy? thanks.

Thomas,
It looks like both Vueling and Clickair fly from Sevilla to Rome and Vueling also goes to Milan and Venice. If you go to Wikipedia's site for airports, they give a good rundown of where the direct flights go to and on which airlines. This is especially handy when looking to take lower cost airlines from smaller airports. Just remember that most of these lower cost airlines charge premiums on checked luggage and even more if you don't declare the luggage at time of booking. Here's the Wikipedia site for Sevilla's airport:

I would say (since you ask) that it might be better to do 10 days in one country, but I also understand the wish to do as much as you can!
If you do decide to go to Italy, Ryanair has a lot of routes around Europe, including one from Seville to Milan (Bergamo). Good luck!

IF you've never been to Spain ("but you've been to Oklahoma"....I've wanted to post that for SO long!), then I, too, would suggest all 10 days in Spain. I'm not sure how much time your daughter has had to get out and about, but a swing through Andalucia to Ronda, the white villages and Granada....maybe an overnighter to Morocco, a couple of days in Madrid and a couple of days in Barcelona will easily eat up the time you have available. There is so much to do and see in Spain.....I would leave an in-depth exploration of Italy for a follow-up trip.
