Travel from Santorini Greece to Rome Italy

Hi there, I am a female traveling solo and am wondering what the safest and easiest way would be to travel from Santorini to Rome? Any help is greatly appreciated! Cheers, Laura

The easiest would be to fly. The safest would be also to fly. The least safe would be to swim from Santorini to Rome (kind of tiring too). Direct non stop flights from Santorini to Rome with the following airlines: Alitalia Blue Panorama
Blue Express Then of course there are plenty of choices with one or two stops.

Laura, I agree that travel by budget air would be the best option. Which airline to use may depend on what time of year you're travelling, as some flights may be seasonal. EasyJet usually terminates flights from Santorini about the beginning of September. You could also check Aegean Air or Olympic. You'll probably have to change planes in Athens. I checked Aegean and if you left Santorini at 07:00, you'd be in Rome at 10:00 (keeping in mind there's a one hour time difference between the two locations). You could also travel from Santorini to Athens via one of the Greek airlines and then continue to Rome via EasyJet. However it would be better to use one airline for the entire trip so that you only have to check your bags once. Cheers!

BluExpress & Blue Panorama make their last Santorini-Rome flights (for this year) tomorrow. You'll have to fly from Santorini to Athens on Aegean or Olympic. Then you can fly Athens > Rome nonstop on Aegean, Olympic, or Alitalia.

Thank you so much for the travel tips! I have booked a ferry to Athens and then will fly from there to Rome. Spending one day and night in Athens and would appreciate any advice on inexpensive places to stay and get around while there?
