Does the rail go directly from Austria to Hungary, or does it travel through a third county? Do you have a railmap for Hungary?

The train goes directly from Austria to Hungary.
Click on this link for the Austrian Rail Line.

Enter the city you will be departing from in Austria. Then enter the city you will be arriving in - in Hungary. Just for practice enter a date 2 days from now.
Click on Search Connection.
Click on "Later" (lower right) many times and it will show you the schedule for all day.
Put a check mark under "Details" of the train you are interested in....the Click on "Details for Selection". It will take you to another page.
Click on "Show Intermediate Stops" and it will show you all the stops. Click on "Map" and it will show you a map of the journey.

Most trains go through Austria and Hungary only. There are even a couple of direct (no changes) trains. Just ask when you go to buy your ticket. If you are on a pass with limited countries you can tell the sales person and they'll get you on the right train.
