travel from Salzburg airport to Munich airport

Looking for info regarding transportation from Salzburg airport to Munich airport. Is this readily available? Should reservations be made before landing in Salzburg? Best would train or bus? Are departure times often during the day for both train and bus? Any idea of cost per person? How about bikes, are they easily transported with us? Thanks in advance

€46 is with a Lufthansa ticket; it's €49 if using other airlines.

The Lufthansa bus would certainly be more convenient, but will they take a non-boxed bicycle?

As is typical for airports used by RyanAir, there is no rail service to Salzburg Airport.

There is, however, a regularly scheduled bus, about every 10 min, from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof in Salzburg. The bus takes about 20 min and costs €2,00. The bus from the airport, Obus 2, has a platform for up to three bicycles.

From Salzburg Hbf to Munich, there are hourly regional trains which convey a limited number of bicycles. You have to have a special ticket to take a bicycle. In addition to a Bayern-Ticket (€20 Single, €28 2-5 P) you will need a Tageskarte-Fahrrad Bayern (€4,50) to cover your bike.

From Munich to the Munich airport there is the S-Bahn, every 10 min, alternately, on one of two routes. The Bayern-Ticket covers you on the S-Bahn and the Tageskarte-Fahrrad Bayern cover your bike on the S-Bahn. Bicycles are not permitted on the S-Bahn from 6-9 and 14-16 hours, Monday-Friday.

Lee's suggested rail connection is cheaper but there also is a Lufthansa-Airportbus.com between Salzburg airport and MUC airport (€46 one-way, journey takes 2.5 hrs)...
