Travel from Rome to Sorrento by bus

Can anyone tell me the best side of the bus to sit on for the best view of the Amalfi Coast while going from Rome to Sorrento?

you need to get to sorrento first from rome, then take the bus from sorrento to amalfi coast - they're different buses. i actually haven't taken a bus from rome to sorrento before - i always take the train from rome to naples and then change train to sorrento. i also have done 1 trip from naples to sorrento via speedboat. on the bus from sorrento to amalfi, you want to sit on the right side for view, assuming you can handle it - some part is scary with the big drop right next to you. take note the bus is very crowded sometimes when leaving sorrento so you may not be able to sit where you want. on the way back sometimes you have to stand.

To agree with David - The bus from Rome doesn't go along the Amalfi Coast on the way to Sorrento.

Fast train from Roma Termini to Napoli Centrale (Piazza Garibaldi) takes a little over 2 hours, go downstairs to the Circumvesuviana station (buy a separate ticket and validate it), trains leave for Sorrento every 30 minutes or so. Train to Sorrento takes an hour. Outside the Sorrento train station are the blue buses - the bus for Amalfi leaves every half hour or so as well, so if one is too crowded, you can wait for the next one (check the schedule to make sure). Sit on the right hand side for the best views (I've even taken photos from the moving bus). On the way back, consider taking the ferry for a completely different perspective (and it's less crowded than the bus might be), since no matter where you sit on the return bus ride your view will be blocked at least some of the time by traffic going south, or by passengers standing.
