We will arrive in Europe at Ramstein AFB in Kaiserlautern Germany for our Rick Steves 11 Day Paris and the Heart of France tour. Is there a train from Ramstein to Paris and how much should it cost from the two of us?

I know ... we already paid the deposit on the tour so buying a train ticket early is not as risky. We plan to get there weeks ahead of time to ensure we make our tour.

I may be doing it wrong, but Bahn-de showed no trains from Kaiserlautern to Paris. Not sure where the nearest train to Paris is from Ramstein AFB. The travel office at Ramstein will help us buy tickets, but not till we are there. I heard the fare is cheaper if you buy it 90 days ahead.

3 times a day there is a connection that gets you from Ramstein to Paris in under 4 hours: - Bus from Ramstein to Kaiserslautern (1 hour)
- ICE from Kaiserslautern to Paris Est (2 1/2 hours) It's all on www.bahn.de. Search from "Ramstein" to "Paris" and you'll find the bus/ICE connection at 9am, 1:30pm and 7pm.
