We need to get from the Marriott Hotel in Munich to meet up with our river boat cruise in Passau this week. What is the best way to get there?

You can get German Rail schedules on their website. There are hourly, direct Regional Express trains from the Hauptbahnhof in Munich to Passau. They take about 2h15m. For two of you, you can use a €28 Bayern-Ticket. If you buy it the day before for the day of travel, it will also cover any MVV transportation to get to the Hbf. If you want faster, you can take the RE to Plattling and an ICE to Passau, but it only saves 10 min and costs more that way.

I believe I have seen that the Marriot is near the Nord Friedhof. If so it should be a short walk to an U-Bahn station. You can get the Bayern-Ticket from an automat there that day. Take the U-Bahn to Marienplatz and take any S-Bahn headed to the Hauptbahnhof (2 stops).
