I booked a flight from Milan to Split through Orbitz that has a stop in Budapest. There's an hour between flights. I'm nervous that won't be enough time to make the connection.
Has anyone ever done this before? Will we need to go through customs in Budapest?
I see no reason for you to need to go through customs. You are just connecting - and the time is no different than if you were connecting in Chicago or Dallas. 1 hour should be ample time.
Obviously everything changes if you inbound flight is late. In this case be prepared with your back up options - i.e. when is the next flight to Split and if your original airline doesn't have a second flight, which other airlines fly that route, etc.
