We are visiting Slovenia and Croatia in early June. We need to travel from Koper, Slovenia, to Rijeka, Croatia to catch the overnight ferry to Split. This is only a 36.6 mile distance but I can't find a reasonable way of getting there. There are train and bus connections from Koper to Postojna or Ilirska Bistrica or from Ljublijna (it seems strange to go back all the way there), but the train arrives in Rijeka at 17:55 and we need to pick up our ferry tickets at least two hours prior to a 19:00 departure! Does anyone know of some elegant way to manage the connection between Koper and Rijeka earlier in the day? Thank you!
