Landing at Milan airport, traveling to Zermatt. Using Swiss flexi pass. I understand I have to pay for the Italian portion of the trip separately. Trying to find the schedule, how much this leg will cost, and how the transaction takes place when we cross the border and the pass kicks in...
www.trenitalia.com shows 19Eu for the train journey to Domodossola from Milan. When you buy your ticket in Italy, just show your pass to the agent. He should only charge you for the Italy portion of the trip.
Thanks, quite helpful!
You can find the schedule on the Swiss rail site, rail.ch ( for English) or sbb.ch ( same website in German, French as well as English). From Milan you will head due north to Brig and change there for a train to Zermatt. The Swiss pass coverage starts at Domodossola, which is still in Italy, before you get to Brig. You can use the Trenitalia website to find the cost of the ride from Milan to Domodossola.
