We have hard time to plan our trip from Denmark to Norway
(our naim destination from US is Denmark)
I have hard time to figure out how to get from Copenhagen to Oslo. We planned to travel to Bergen from Oslo and will buy rail pass.
Is it better to fly to Oslo or use ferry?
How to reserve night train from Bergen to Oslo?
Do we need Rail pass if our main expense will be ferry or flight to Oslo?
Thanks
We flew from Copenhagen to Oslo because the time is so much shorter. If I remember correctly, we found a low fare on TAP, the Portuguese airline, on the internet. The airports for both cities are fairly close- in, with good transportation to the centers.
If you can, the train trip to Bergan from Olso was one of my great memories. At the top of the crossing we got off and took the "Flam railway" down the mountain. Then at the bottom we took the fairy into Bergan, Amazing views.
Thanks a lot. Your sugestion is was very helpfull. I started to think about flying to Oslo, but was hesitant. Now I am sure- this is the best decision in the situation
Getting to Oslo is very easy. You can fly, drive or take a boat.
The DFDS overnight boat is a great way to enter Norway and for me it allowed me to see what my grandfather saw as he came a left from his native land. My grandmother left from Christiana (Oslo) to come to America.
Flying is good but not nearly as fun.
Driving first into Sweden then to Norway allows you to see some very nice country.
Taking the night train is good but during the day you will see some very nice country.
