Does anyone have a secret on how to travel from Split, Croatia, to Barcelona, Spain?? I have tried every airline that i am aware of in Europe and everone wants to send us up to germany for $1300.00 and add 20 hours to an hour and a half flight...HELP...we are traveling in the end of May

This may not be very convenient to you at all, but is there any way you could rework your plans to fly out of Dubrovnik? It looks like Click Air has a direct flight from DBV to BCN, but only on Wednesday (€55), Friday (€100), and Sunday (€250).
Otherwise, maybe try looking at (and booking) the flights as two totally separate legs - the first leg to get you to a larger gateway city (Frankfurt, Madrid, etc.) and the second to get you to Barcelona. It's a lot less convenient to do it that way, with trying to sort out the best deal combonations from each city and also having the possibility something goes wrong with the first leg and you miss the second flight, but it may be worth a try when your only other options are paying $1300 for the pleasure of a 20 hour journey!

If you can get to Venice from Split inexpensively you can get a daily flight to Barcelona on Barcelona-based Veuling.com. Check out the site there are many flights on sale. I would have done it for you, but you did not post date of travel.
