I'm planning a trip (May-June 09)that will take us through Budapest, Krakow and Prague (in that order).
I've traveled through Europe several times but have never run into so much confusion regarding planning our transportation. I'm having significant difficulty finding any rail fares at all between these cities, and when I do, they're around $170 just for the distance between Budapest and Krakow, which seems ridiculously high, at least to me.
Can someone offer some pointers? I feel really silly, but I just can't seem to find answers that make sense on my own right now. I'm open to night or day trains. I was also wondering if bus travel between the cities would be an effective option, cost- and time-wise. Thanks in advance for any advice! It's greatly appreciated.
