I have a EuroRail Pass for Germany (4 day). Going from Berlin to Amsterdam on one leg of my trip and the end leg is from Munich to Innsbruck, both beginning in Germany and going into another country. I got an explaination form Tim that was very helpful. Buy a ticket from the closest bourder town to Amsterdam in Berlin before I go and stay on the same train. Thanks

You've confused me. First, it's Eurail, not Eurorail. Second, Eurail doesn't issue single country passes. I guess you mean a German Rail pass. Salzburg is included with a German Rail pass because it is just over the Border (Salzach River) from Germany and German Rail runs the trains into Salzburg Hauptbahnhof. It's not included with a Eurail pass. Innsbruck, on the other hand, is quite a ways from the German border. The German Rail pass includes travel to Kufstein, Austria, right over the border, but not all the way to Innsbruck.

If you are willing to commit to a day and train, you can get an online Europa-Spezial Österreich fare for as low as €19 ($30) per person from Munich to Innsbruck on one of at least 4 express (EC) trains per day. That's less than ¼ of a four day German Rail pass.

There are also Europa-Spezial Niederlande fares available online all the way from Berlin to Amsterdam for as little as €39 (~$60), and you don't have to worry about getting (and paying for) the ticket from the border to Amsterdam.

All these fares are available from the German Rail (Bahn) website.

German pass is what I got

I'm sorry.

As Steve said, in Berlin you can buy a ticket from the border, or the last stop before the border, to Amsterdam. That's probably Oberhausen to Amsterdam. Full fare is about €42. It you are sure of the train you will catch out of Berlin, you can purchase a Europe-Spezial Niederlande fare from Oberhausen to Amsterdam for as low as €19, online.

Your German Rail pass will get you from Munich to Kufstein. Before you leave Munich, buy a ticket from Kufstein to Innsbruck (Std fare €15,20). You can just stay on the train and show the conductor your railpass up to Kufstein and your std ticket after Kufstein.
