HI, I will be in Europe in late August. My sister, daughter and I will be In Munich and would like to visit Creglingen, Germany (where our ancestors originated from). I can't seem to figure out how to get to Creglingen. Below are the options I have come up with: - Rent a car and drive (this is a 3 hour drive and I am very nervous about doing this on my own...reading signs, etc) - Take a train from Munich city center to either Rothenburg or Weikersheim - but when I reach a train station how do I get from Train Station to Creglingen and back to train station. Can you please help??? Thanks, jeanelle
There appears to be info on bus services from Rothenburg to Creglingen on the VRN (Rhein-Neckar Transport) website at www.vrn.de. Use the search form to the left of the web page. Put in Von: Rothenburg Nach: Creglingen your date and time. Ensure that the radio button by the time is on "Ab" which means "departure" and not "An" which means "arrival". Then click "Suchen". It looks like there are a few buses a day and you need to take route 980 from Rothenburg to Archshofen and then route 8088 to Creglingen, with total journey time around 30 mins. At present on a weekday buses leave Rothenburg at 1130 and 1311. Note that Creglingen is in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg so you will NOT be able to use a Bayern-Ticket beyond Rothenburg.
