Your text to link here...What is TI in rs books mean.
Be aware that "TI" is just Rick Steves' own abbreviation for "Tourist Information." This is not used in Europe. If you ask "where's the TI?" only a Rick Steves reader will know what you mean (I saw this happen in Bruges). Instead, ask for tourist information, and look for a sign with a single letter "i" in lower case (and often, but not always, in an italic font).
TI signifies "tourist information" site. Your real challenge may lie in finding the TI...but that's more likely due to the layouts of towns and cities.
Tourist Information is a familiar concept in the UK. In most towns and cities throughout Europe the TI is often either at the train station, in the vicinity of the town hall, near the cathedral, or near the main square. In the Netherlands they are known as VVV. Most town maps will show the location.
TI is also common in Ireland, and many tourist-oriented maps have "TI" symbols on them. It is not only a Rick Steves concept.
