Travel Bled to Zagreb

You can view the schedule at www.bahn.com. Bled Jezero as the start and Zagreb Glavni is the central station. There is a station at Velika Gorica close to the airport, but it might be just as easy to get a bus at central station.

There are several direct services from Lesce Bled station (4 Km from the centre of Bled town) to Zagreb each day. If you depart from Bled Jezero then the journey planner on Bahn.com will route you via a change in Jesenice, where these direct services also stop about 15 minutes earlier. Trains from Bled Jezero to Jesenice appear to be infrequent and to get the first connection to Zagreb which I mention below you would need to depart Bled Jezero at 05.07. The first direct service to Zagreb is train 415 (the 'Alpine Pearls' service from Villach in Austria to Belgrade), departing Lesce Bled 07.31 (Jesenice 07.15) and arriving Zagreb 10.35. Next is EC211 (known as 'Sava'), departing Lesce Bled 13.51 (Jesenice 13.40) and arriving Zagreb 17.10. Bahn.com shows the second one but not the first. I used the journey planner on the Croatian railways website - http://www.hzpp.hr/timetable . There is an English version. I couldn't find any way to purchase on line, but you may wish to have a look round the Slovenian railways website at http://www.slo-zeleznice.si/en/passengers/abroad . He suggests buying tickets via an agency, but I would guess that the walk-up fares will be cheap enough on the day, given that it's eastern Europe.
