I recently booked a round trip ticket for my wife and I to London Gatwick. What we really needed was to fly to Rome from Orlando, then board a cruise, return to Rome, travel to London, spend a week, then travel from London back to Orlando. However, it was signficantly cheaper to enter and leave the same city in Europe.
What are our best/quickest/cheapest options for arriving at Gatwick and travelling to Rome, as well as getting back to London area two weeks later? I've seen some discount airlines in Europe, but would like to know the tricks to keep the costs low. One airline doesn't even post flights until 6 months prior. Thanks.
