RS website info is very helpful but I would prefer to work with someone to book our rail travel. Does anyone have a recommended travel agent that knows internal France and UK routes and France to England rail routes. Thank you.
I'm going to be no help whatsoever. AFAIK, train bookings aren't commisionable- the TA doesn't get a commission from the train companies. So IF you could find one willing to do it, they would charge for it.
With just a bit of research, and some questions here on the specific country forum, you can DIY just as easily as making your own flight bookings. Start by reading through the Man in Seat 61 website. https://www.seat61.com/
Then play around with the nationalrail, Eurostar, and SNCF (english) websites. If you have specific questions, there are regular posters on the forums who are extremely well versed on the subject.
I believe CJ is right.
I have found Trainline to be a very user-friendly website for booking rail travel in Europe. They charge a small service fee.

Sounds like you would like some serious hand holding for your trip. Unfortunately, in the era of the internet and computers, the hand holders retired. I would suggest you get one of your grandchildren to help with the web site and computer aspect. It is fairly easy and simple once you understand it. Also contact the Rick Steves office directly, I think they have some trip planners that charge an hourly fee for assistance. There is only one train between France and England -- the Eurostar. Where do you want to go? Good luck.
Great advice from all of the above posters.
Check out your local AAA office. My sister is a member and she found a travel agent at the AAA office who booked her train tickets for her for Switzerland, Italy, France, England, including Eurostar over and back.
There is quite a lot of knowledge on this forum. But in general for train bookings:
For trains in France, use www.sncf-connect.com
For trains between France and the UK, use www.eurostar.com
For train in the UK, use www.nationalrail.co.uk
The Man recommends Railbookers and I happened to be on their site the other day, they have a lot of trips
A good source of info about trains all over Europe is Man in Seat 61. He walks you through the process & has video of the stations, etc.
