Trasport from CDG Paris to Gare Lyon station

Hello! My friends are flying into CDG Paris then catching a train to Aix en Provence. They have all the tickets, but we are wondering the best way to get from the airport to the train station. This is their first European trip, they are a little intimidated and are concerned about getting from the airport to the train station. I'm considering hiring a limo to meet them and take them to the train station. Can anyone make a recommendation for a limo service or another easy way to transport them?

Thanks for any advise.

If your friends are packing light and don't mind schlepping their own luggage, the cheapest route is the RER B from CDG to Gare du Nord and the RER D from there to Gare de Lyon. The fare is €8.40. There are two RER stations at CDG. CDG 1 is next to Terminal 3. If your friends are flying into Terminal 1, they would need to take the free CDGVAL driverless shuttle train to CDG 1. CDG 2 TGV is directly below Terminal 2. See this zoomable map of the Metro and RER system.

Or they could take Air France coach #4 directly from CDG to Gare de Lyon. The fare is €15. Bags go in the luggage bay.

Sharon: I can understand your concern and probably taking the RER and then changing to the metro would be a bit much for them. There are plenty of taxis at the airport and that should not cost more than 50 euro, or you could book an airport shuttle service, like Paris Shuttle (parisshuttle.com) and for about 18 euro each they would be dropped off at whatever address they give, in this case Gare de Lyon.

I would take the direct Air France bus for €15 and avoid changing busses.

My wife and I always take a bus if available at the air terminal. It is inconvenient dragging luggage around, but worth the saving to me. A week later the inconvenience is all forgotten.

And after 30 years of foreign travel I count getting lost and finding my way again a great achievement.

Sharon,

The TGV to Aix stops at Charles de Gaulle. Your friends might be able to get on at the airport. Perhaps they have time to change their outward bound ticket.
