We are 3 active seniors traveling for 3 weeks in Sept and first week of Oct. Thinking after one week of walking and 2 trains,we may want a private driver. Any suggestions for transfer from Florence to Sorrento. We can take the train then hire a taxi/driver into Sorrento hotel.. On our way back home to US. driver from Sorrento to Rome seems to make scene as we will have extra bags by then and pooped. Any favorite folks Will also get a driver or small 8person tour to Almafi coast for the day. Not important to save cash but also do not want to throw it away. Thank you.

Little clarity -- are you asking for a driver from Sorrento to the Rome airport for a return flight? What time is the flight? For Sorrento hotel, just walk out of the station and find the taxi stand.

We paid 120€ for a driver from Sorrento to Naples airport as a price guide line. Friends paid 400€ for driver Rome to Positano. There are many drivers reviewed/ listed on Trip Advisor.

We will be staying in Rome the the night before early out on Friday Hotel to hotel from Sorrento.

If you are planning (wisely) on staying nearer the airport the night before, I would hire a driver from Sorrento to Napoli Centrale (if you don't want to take a train there) and take a fast train to Rome from Naples. Stay overnight and take a cab or Leonardo Express train to the airport the next day.
You could also take the Marozzi coach (bus) from Sorrento directly to Roma Tiburtina station the day before but it has limited runs - only one or two, depending on the day - and they depart Sorrento at 6:00 AM and/or 5:00 PM.

The trip takes about 4 hours. Driver to Naples and fast train from there would be much faster, and you can probably land a price break on train tickets if you order in advance.
