My friends and I are planning to travel from Lourdes to Provence and are researching the fastest mode of transportation to Provence without renting a car. We will either stay in Avignon or Aix-en-Provence. Any suggestions on travelling between the various towns would be appreciated.
Marcy: Take the train to get to those two cities from Lourdes. The main Provence towns/cities are well connected by rail. Once you get to Provence, Arles, Avignon, Nimes and Aix are most easily and quickly reached by train. But if you want to see the many worthwhile things not in the Provencal cities on the rail lines, you'll need to go on day tours or rent a car.
