Travel from Florence to Ravello. Can I take train to some point and take a water
taxi to some point in amalfi..I could take a car & driver from there

The quickest method from Florence to Ravello would be a EuroStar Italia from Florence to Napoli. From there take the Circumvesuviana (commuter train) to Sorrento.
From Sorrento I believe there are Bus connections to Ravello, but you could also hire a Car if desired. Hopefully one of the others will have more specific information on that part.

Take the eurostar train in Florence to Naples or Salerno. Then, I would hire a driver, it is easier than figuring out the bus systems. We hired Anthony Buonocore, from www.amalfitransfer.com. Anthony was punctual, courteous, and was well versed in the history of the coast. His mini-van was very comfortable and air-conditioned. He took care of the luggage and was well versed in the history of the coast. He is an excellent driver, he handled the curvy road and the chaotic traffic quite well.
