Transportation to CDG

We leave Paris very early, 7am, and wonder the most efficient way to get to the airport from the 7th arr. I think I read that the metro does not run that early(4am)

The metro will not be running at that hour. The first RER B train to CDG originates at Gare du Nord. It departs at 04:53 and arrives at 05:30. If you're flying home, that's too late. If you're flying somewhere else in Europe, that could work; but you would have to take a taxi from your hotel to Gare du Nord. "The most efficient way" would be to arrange for a taxi the night before and take it all the way to the airport. You can arrive as early as you wish.

Thanks, I was afraid that taking a taxi was the only option.

As an alternative to a taxi that morning, you could also take the train there the night before and stay at the airport prior to departure.

'TAXI TAXI TAXI!' The world is full of people left stranded because a pre-arranged taxi never showed up. Depending solely on this leaves no Plan B except to hoof it to a taxi rank - - if you've allowed time to cover the distance lugging your junk.

I second the suggestion of a hotel at CDG for your last night. Ibis rates are reasonable (under €100) and you can arrange a late check-in so that you can have dinner and a final evening in the city.

Diane, Given the very early hour for your flight, I agree with the others that staying at the Airport would be a really good idea. There's a Sheraton Hotel right in Terminal 2 at CDG, and while it might be "pricey", that would be my choice. You'll be able to get a good night's sleep prior to your flight, won't have to worry about traffic or Taxis not showing up, and won't have to haul your luggage too far when you head for the departure gate. Happy travels!

I would just stay in Paris the last night and get up early and take a taxi to the airport which should take less than one hour. This way you can spend you last night in Paris having a nice dinner.

For less money than the Sheraton you could stay at the Ibis Paris CDG Airport Hotel. It's located next to Terminal 3 and is close by the CDG 1 RER station. It's also close by the free 24/7 CDGVAL driverless shuttle train that connects all the terminals.

The Ibis at CDG Terminal 3 is the answer. We were there a week ago. The price is very reasonable and, if I remember correctly, you can even get breakfast there starting at 4:00 or 4:30 AM.

For even less money for us poor folk, there's an Formule1 at about fifty bucks a night right next door to an ETAP for about twenty bucks more. The rooms are identical in both except that the F1 has only a sink in the room. There's another of the Accors across the driveway (Ibis or Mercure) for something more and it has a place to eat that always seems to be open. All are on the airport and are served by the same Accor shuttle bus that comes by at all hours every fifteen or twenty minutes.
