What is the best way to get from Munich to alsace/colmar (train, air?), and approximately how long will it take?

Munich to Freiburg (Black Forrest) is about 4 1/2 hours by train, fares rank from €29 to €78 one-way in 2nd class (depending on how early to book and whether or not you need the ticket to be re-bookable). From Freiburg www.suedbadenbus.de connects you with Colmar (bus takes about an hour, €7.30 one-way). Busses run frequently.
