transportation in Poland

We are staying in Krakow but would like to visit a small town (Tarnobrzeg)where my husband's relatives are from. Any suggestions on renting a car for this trip? Train takes about 6 hours and it looks like a 2-3 hour car ride.

Have you checked on buses? There may be a line that has your village as a stop. You could ask at a travel agency in Krakow. Car rental may be needlessly expensive. Local knowledge should be utilized.
