My husband and I are staying at the Hotel-Gasthof-Huber in Oberndorf 11, Ebersberg from 01/10/12-06/10/12. I am having such a difficult time trying to figure out transportation from Munich Airport to the hotel and from the hotel to Munich train station.(Hauptbahnhof). My biggest concern is getting from Stiglmaierplatz the evening of 02/10/12 back to the hotel. We have reservations at Das "Wienszelt" am Stiglmaierplatz for 1830 and it appears that there will be no trains, busses, etc. running later in the evening to get us back to our hotel. Does anyone have any suggestions? Will there possibly be taxis available to take us back? Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... Thank you,

Before I go looking for specific schedules for you, know that you can get complete schedule information from the Munich metro website, www.mvv-muenchen.de. You can change the display to English. If you use the German Rail (Bahn) website, you can enter addresses. For the airport to your hotel, I used a workday in October for the schedule. MVV doesn't give schedule information for Feb 2013, but the schedules don't change much, if any. According to the MVV website, if you leave the airport by 9:44 on the S8, you'll get to Leuchtenbergring by 10:13. There you will have an 18 min wait for the S4 to Ebersberg, arriving at 11:08. That takes about an hour and a half. The S-Bahn runs at 20 min intervals, so you should be able to do that much about any time. Once you get to Ebersberg, you can wait seven minutes, until 11:15 for a bus, spend 2 min on the bus and get off and walk 50 yds to your hotel. As for getting home from Stiglmaierplatz, it's an U-Bahn trip to the Hbf and the S4 to Ebersberg Bhf. Even on Sundays, the trains run until late. I see a connection every 20 min until 8 min after midnight. The next one after that is 1:08 AM, an hour later. It's a 2½ km (1.8 mile) walk from the Ebersberg Bahnhof to your hotel, and the buses don't run on Sundays. The map of the station doesn't show a taxi stop at the station, but there are probably taxis in town. Perhaps your hotel will arrange one, or they might agree to pick you up. On weekdays, it looks like the bus runs sporadically during the day. From 3:30 PM until 7:30 PM there are four buses, none later.
