transportation in andalusia

I will be traveling alone(60yrs, female)to several towns in
Andalusia by public transportation. How difficult will it be to get on and off from train and stations with a large
suitcase? Will there be elevators, porters, etc,,,,specially the towns without AVE trains?

Elevators? Maybe - more so in the larger cities. Escalators are common in the larger stations. in smaller towns, probably not so much.

As for porters....haven't heard that term in a while. I assume you mean someone to handle your bags for you. I don't recall ever seeing any "porters" anyplace in Europe (I travel with a single pack I can sling over my shoulder or carry on my back, so maybe I'm just not seeing them because I have no interest in their services). But I would not expect to find any porters at all, even in the big cities. You may find a helpful fellow-passenger if you need help, but I'm not aware that there's any staff there whose job is to take care of your bags for you.

Escalators would be more common than elevators and porters non existant -or at least I have never seen one.

The only real advice is not to take luggage which is too big for you to manage by yourself as I suspect you will regret it otherwise.

Thanks for the reply. I get the picture.
Another question: How is condition of Tourist class
of trains? There seem to be no 1st class on some route (to Jaen). I don't mean to sound like a spoiled
American tourist, but I like to travel in comfort.

But you do !! I find the difference between and 1st and 2nd relatively small and not significant so used 2nd about 99% of the time. But if you are use to having porters, then your travel style and comfort expectation are different from mine so you better go for first class.
