On Sept 17, we need to get from Souillac to Toulouse. The rail Europe tables show only 2 early morning trains period. One is a connect, the other is a nonstop. Does anyone know of a private transfer service or any other mode? I would simply prefer to arrive at our Toulouse hotel around checkin time, not 4 hrs early. Our hotel is by the airport, not in town, so with all our baggage we can't very well explore the town till checkin time.
You need to be looking at the French train website, http://www.tgv-europe.com/en/train-ticket. Choose 'Great Britain' as your ticket collection country (otherwise, you end up right back on Rail Europe, and you DON'T want that), and on the next page choose 'cont. on TGV...Euro...' There's a train at 14:46, also. It's actually a few Eruo cheaper, too - IF you buy in advance! You can see the details on the website...The two trains in the afternoon look the same as the two in the morning...same length of time, and one direct, one not. I haven't looked it up, but surely there's somewhere in town where you can store your luggage until the afternoon...
Thank you Eileen....I'm on it!
Hmmmm....I must be doing something wrong...the screen freezes when I have a choice betw/ paying in Pounds or Euro...no matter which I choose- I can't get past that window. I should probably try later, maybe it's a website glitch?
Rhonda, I suggest you check out this site for DB Rail. http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?newrequest=yes&protocol=http:& Or search DB Timetable Information Bahn if that link doesn't work.
You can't buy your tickets there, at least I've never figured out how, but you can see all the trains, how many connections etc. Then just take that information with you and buy your tickets in Souillac. Also I bet if you call or e-mail your hotel they will let you leave your bags at the desk if your room is not ready when you arrive. Good luck. P.S. I just checked this site and there are lots of later trains. There's one that leaves at 14:46 and arrives at 16:40.
