My husband and I are cruising to Rouen, September 6, 2011 and would like to travel to Paris for the day - I have tried checking the train schedules and am not getting the results I want. We arrive at 10 a.m., but there doesn't seem to be any trains at that time. What would you suggest. We would like to leave as soon as we arrive in Rouen, say 10:30 a.m. travel to Paris, spend the day and then return to Rouen say around 7 p.m. The train seems to be the most reasonable, but limited to time. We could take the train back, but how do we get to Paris?

Rita, there are trains more or less hourly. Use this online timetable. http://www.bahn.com/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml Also note that Rouen is not without its charms.

The standard 2nd class fare is €21.00 each way. If you book well in advance (up to three months allowed) at www.tgv-europe.com, you can get a Prem's fare as low as €10.00 each way.
