Transportation FROM Paris TO Charles De Gaulle airport.

Hi Folks, Should we take the airport Van (Golden Air), RER or taxi to the airport as recommended by Rick Steves? I got the info from the 2009 book. Should we just call the airport Van a day in advance to reserve or make it earlier? What are the prices like lately? We are 2 of us and our toddler under 2? Will his transportation be charged for by the Airport Van?

From where in Paris and what day and time? That affects the taxi fare. However, I can tell you what we paid on July 4. The day before, we asked our hotel in the Latin Quarter to arrange for a taxi to arrive at 7:30 A.M. Sunday morning. We paid 60 euros, including tip. We had two 26 inch suitcases. All of the factors I mention affect the fare. The trip took about 50 minutes. While some other method might have been cheaper, we chose a taxi for convenience and reliability. Hope this helps.

Sonia, the Golden Air website gives this year's rates for the low & high seasons, and a rate for children under 18. Nothing about no charge for toddlers.

Sonia, I'm just going to mention that RER won't have any traffic jam delays...It's €8,40 per person, children 4-10 €5,80 (and I guess children 3 and under are free...?). You can leave as early as 5:00 am, and the trip takes approx. 35 minutes, depending on where you catch RER (you can connect to RER by metro). If you are interested in this, I strongly suggest you look at the Paris Airports website (beaucoup helpful info on the airport, too!) and especially the website Paris By Train.com. VERY good info on this topic, and many other things Parisian and French...Depending on your luggage situation and how old your child is, you may want to consider a van, but many people with small children do ride RER without any problems - only YOU know how you think things will go for your family.....(1)...http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Access-maps-car-parks/Paris-CDG/Access/public-transport/paris-cdg-rerb.htm........(2)...http://parisbytrain.com/

We are staying in the latin Quarter on Rue Pascal. Our flight from Charles De Gaulle is at 11:30AM. So, we gotta reach the airport by 8:30AM to 9:00AM. Will a taxi get us earlier their or should we go with Airport Vans? Please recommend an Airport Van company. We'll have 2 suitcases and a couple of small bags.

Sonia, I'll go ahead and exhaust this line of response (public transportation)LOL!. It'll also serve to keep your thread at the top...:-).........On the ParisByTrain.com site, there's info on Roissybus - Love It! You'd take the metro from the Les Gobelins Metro stop - VERY close to rue Pascal - directly to the Opéra stop, then come to the street surface to catch the Roissybus to CDG. No metro connections necessary. It's €9,10 each (children - ?), and you keep your luggage with you onboard (like airport shuttles). We've never needed other airport vans, so I don't have any info on them...in case you haven't noticed that ;-) We just prefer the 'scheduled route'-type buses as opposed to the 'scheduled pick-up'-types - they can't forget us! And we don't travel with a bunch of luggage.........Anybody know more about airport vans???
