My family of 5 (3 teen children) are planning our first ever European Vacation. On July 6 we need to travel from Nice to Venice. Does anyone have any suggestions on the most economical way to get from Nice to Venice? We also need a place for all 5 of us in Venice ~ any suggestions? Tammy
From the Nice Ville train station, you can book the train completely through to Venice. I can't see the fare but I can tell you the fare from Ventimiglia just inside the Italian border. There are various runs. The fares range from 57.50E to 97.50E per person. The 57.50E run takes about 8.0hrs with one train change in Milan. From Milan to Venice, you will be on a EuroCity train. The 97.50E run is slightly quicker and requires two changes. You will be two different Eurostar fast trains. I mention Ventimiglia because I think you can rent a car there instead of in nearby Nice and drive to Venice. You can drop the car off at large rental area at Venice.
