Transportation from Munich Airport to Hotel

We will be flying into Munich Airport from Philadelphia & would like to arrange for a car to take us to our hotel (Marriott). When I e-mailed the concierge I was quoted a rate of 150 Euros--Yikes! Might anyone have any suggestions they could share? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Helena

Which Marriott are you staying at in Munich--there are several.

150 Euros sounds like a limo. A taxi would be around 50 Euros. Since you specifically asked about a car, I assume you do not want to take the S-Bahn?

So Sorry, I should have been more specific. We are staying at the Marriott located at 93 Berliner Strasse (near Englische Garten) I believe. I actually have done a little checking into the public transit in Germany (which I understand is extremely well run), but we would have to switch trains & I thought after a long International (evening )flight we might not find that too much fun..LOL....
Again I thank you for any thoughts you can share.

Again, you can take a taxi from the airport. The fare should around 50 Euros.

Thanks Steve, I was originally trying to avoid the Taxi thing as sometimes (in my experience) here in the Northeast the Taxis can decide to really "take you for a ride" (if you get my drift..ha! ha!) As a former New Yorker I guess I am just a bit suspicious and had thought I would feel more comfortable knowing there was a car to meet us,with a
pre-arranged price having already been agreed upon. I was hoping that someone might have had some experience with an Airport Shuttle/Car service that they were pleased with.

Understood, Helena. But, I personally would not worry too much about being "taken for a ride" in Germany. Taxis are regulated and you don't hear alot about rip offs there. Now, before someone corrects me here - I AM NOT SAYING IT CAN'T/DOESN'T HAPPEN. I am just saying it's not a big issue as compared to alot of other places.

As an alternative, there is the Lufthansa shuttle to the main rail station. You could then take a taxi from there. Other than that, I don't have any information about car/limo service. I found this place just on a quick search:

Hope this helps.

Thanks again Steve! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and although (as you mentioned) anything is possible,it definitely does help to know that your experience has obviously been positive.
I also appreciate the link you posted for the Munich Limo co and will have myself a peek at it, but am starting to seriously consider that I may just be best off to try my luck with a Taxi right at the airport after all.
Again, thank you for taking the time to reply...These message boards are the Best!

Munich also has a great rail system that runs directly into the airport. Our first time in Munich was March 2007 and we took the underground rail from the airport to Marienplatz and found our hotel fairly easily. Normally we go for the private driver pickup, too. But actually the rail was quite easy.
