Transportation from Madrid Airport to Chamartin Station

Does anyone know if the Cercanias train from the airport to Chamartin is included if I have a ticket on Ouigo? I just read that it includes it if you have Iryo so I was wondering about Ouigo.

Probably not, Ouigo is a low cost option. So just like budget airlines, expect nothing to be included unless clearly stated.

www.Seat61.com says all the 4 high-speed train companies in Spain include a Cercanias transfer.
Check your train ticket to see if it says “Combinado Cercanias” somewhere along the border of the ticket. If it does, it will be followed by 5 digits. This is the code There are Cercanias ticket machines where you retrieve your Cercanias ticket and usually there’s a staffed ticket sales booth (with snail-speed lines). The machine lines usually move much faster. Your Cercanias Ticket is dispensed from the machine after you enter the sequence of 5 numbers printed on your train ticket.

There often are uniformed workers who can help you retrieve your ticket from the machine—
which really should be dismantled and put in an antique museum somewhere in Toledo. The tickets only cost €2.40. I always try to have some €1 and €2 coins and €5 note with me just in case the Gremlins living in the ticket machine refuse to process my code and then my credit card— something that happens a lot in Spain.
To reach the Cercanias train station below Terminal 4 of Madrid’s airport, look for the sign that says “Aeropuerto T4.”
Enjoy Valencia!

My experience was that the Cercanias train was not included if the ticket was purchased from a third party. I had purchased one of my tickets on Trainline.

I just read that all long distance trains include the Cercanias. I did look on my ticket and it has a confirmation code (6 digits - numbers and letters) not five - and it doesn't say "Combinado Cercanias" I bought the ticket online - it's a OUIGO Full ticket. Not a big deal - but I just want to know since I want to know whether to change money at the airport or when I get into town and go to a bank.

While we're at it - I know Amsterdam and London now allow you to just tap in with your US credit card when entering the metro and buses. Seems this system isn't in place yet in Spain. Is that correct?
