Transportation from Germany to Prague

Airfare and rail prices are out of my budget. I've heard taking the bus is the cheapest option with the most possible final destinations. We're looking to travel from either Munich or Frankfurt to Prague. Is there a bus site that is in English? Sites keep saying "further information is available at the airport", but we'd rather not wait. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If there are two of you, both of you can travel on regional trains throughout Bavaria on a one day unlimited travel €27 Bayern-Ticket. That includes from anywhere to the Czech border. For another €20 per person you can buy an "Anschluß" ticket from there to Prague.

Or, you can go just over the border and buy an even less expensive Czech rail ticket to Prague.

You can also buy a Praque-Spezial ticket for the trains from Munich to Prague for about €60 pP, round trip.

There is a direct CNL (City Night Line) train from Frankfurt to Prague. Booked well in advance, SparNight fares are as low as €29 for a reclining seat. Fares are slightly higher for a bunk in either a six-person or four-person couchette.

For day trains, if you book each leg separately well in advance, you can get a €29 fare for Frankfurt-Dresden and a €19 fare for Dresden-Prague.

See the timetables and fares at www.bahn.de. Enter Praha rather than Prague.
