Wendy, It would help to know the second part of your question ("Is there a".....). That's going to be a LONG trip by train, but it's certainly possible. The easiest route I found was a departure from Garmen-Partenkirchen at 08:04, with arrival in Siena at 19:38 (time 11H:34M, 3 changes, reservations compulsory on 2 legs). With such a long travel day, you might consider stopping for at least one night at an intermediate point, perhaps Verona. That would break up the long trip into more easily manageable segments.
