Transportation from Fiumicino airport into Rome

My family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children 6, 9, 11) will be traveling to Rome the middle of March. In reading Rick Steve's advice on getting from the airport to Rome he recommends a taxi if 4 people are traveling. I do not think that all 5 of us will fit in a taxi. Suggestions on what is the best way for us to get to our apartment in Rome?

When we've traveled as a group with kids and older parents I just walk ahead to the taxi stand area and hold up the number of fingers as we have passengers -- a mini-van will (almost) always miraculously appear and zoom to the front of the queue.

(Note that this has been in central Europe - not Rome - no Italy group trips that included kids under my belt... yet.)

Your next issue: 6 is young enough and small enough - and 9 may be - that a child seat is required. They would be in Germany. Search the seat topic -- someone recently posted some great detail on the topic. (I'll help look, too, if I have time.)

There are a number of shuttle/limo services available so look in that direction. Rome shuttle has generally received good reviews but am not familiar with the company that Steve is promoting. The fixed rate for a cab into Rome is 40E so use that as your basis for comparison.
