My husband and I will be traveling with our 4 adult children. Trying to figure out the cheapest way to get from the airport to our hotel, The Marriott Flora, located Via Vittorio Veneto, 191 Rome. I've researched about the fr1 line and the Leonardo Express train, but not sure if we should disembark at Termini station or Spagna...and take a taxi from there?
The metro in Rome is as easy as they come. Take the orange "A" line and get off at Spagna, it's only four small blocks. It's a five minute walk, 10 max if you are stopping to take pictures.
Let me know if you need help with anything else.

With 6 people, you might consider a shuttle from the airport to your hotel. You're looking at 66Euro on the Leonardo Express for six people plus any metro costs once at the Rome Termini train station. I know that there is a fixed fare of 40Euro (may be 44 Euro now) for taxis that hold up to 4 passengers. Shuttles would be more but I don't know how much more. Perhaps others can comment.
There is a local train that costs only 5.50 euros vs the Leonardo Express. Has anyone ever taken this train from FCO?
The local train FR1 does not go to the main train station but to the Tiburtina station which is farther from the hotel.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I'm thinking we will probably just bite the bullet and take the hotel shuttle bus offered for 19.33 euros per person. Probably a better way to start a vacation after the long flight.
Don't bite the bullet, they seldom taste good. Do the math. The hotel shuttle at 19.33/person is 116 Euro. The taxi is a fixed price of 40. That is 80 for two taxis. You are ahead at least 36E. Taxis from the airport are easy to use.
Decision made. Two taxi's it is... An even better way to start our vacation... the 4 children (ages 18 to 30) in one and my husband and I in the other!
This time last year our hotel arranged a private transfer, FCO to hotel, costing 70 Euro for the six of us. It was in a large comfortable van. I didn't notice the company name but try this one, it comes highly recommended on Tripadvisor.
I don't know about the airport run but public taxis in Rome itself charge a supplement for each piece of luggage.
Linda, Thanks for the info. I checked out the website you cited (www.romecabs.com/transfers.html) and it will cost the six of us 65 euros to get from FCO to our hotel with luggage charges included.
