transportation from Dupont Hotel on New Hampshire to Kennedy Center

I will be in Wash. DC Feb 23, 24 and 25 to see my granddaughter play with her high school orchestra at the Kennedy Center. We are considering staying at the Dupont Hotel, but wonder that time of year what the best mode of transportation would be and an approximate cost for 4 people. Anyone have a suggestion? Also, any other "reasonable" hotel you could recommend?
Thanks Donna

Welcome to the Washington DC Helpline. There's a metro station at Dupont Circle. I think it's the red line that goes down to Farragut North. Out the door and west on K Street fifty yards to the #80 bus which goes to the Kennedy Center. If it's not 80, it's the only one with a number divisable by ten, but it says Kennedy Center. The cost is right at three bucks, cheaper if you're old. The bus is slow, the whole deal will take you probably a bit more than half an hour. You can walk it in less, but the Potomac Valley gets miserable that time of year. The areas you'd walk through are fine.

The Churchill is a lovely little boutique hotel in Dupont Circle area. Catty-corner from the Hilton if you can locate that one on a map.

London, Paris, Rome, Washington DC, what is the different? I often think that Washington, DC, is actually a different country that rest of the USA.
