transportation from CDG airport Paris to hotel in Paris

I see there are RER trains and also buses. Which is best?
Do they just go to a train station or where? I am staying in the Rue Cler area. How would you buy tickets for either the train or the bus? It mentioned that the machines would not take North American Credit cards to change into euros. Are there ATM in the airport where North American credit or debit cards may be used to get euros for the train or bus?

Never taken the bus so I can only speak to the RER/metro portion of your inquiry. After exiting security find the ATM machine and withdraw Euros. Follow the signs to the train (RER) and purchased a ticket to Paris from the Cashier and get a metro map. This ticket will be an Airport all zone type ticket and will also be good on the metro to get you to Rue Cler. Also consider buying at the same time a carnet (sp?) of 10 metro tickets to use as you need subsequently to getting to Rue Cler. Take the RER to Gare du Nord and switch to the metro using the same ticket as you did for the RER. Take a look at the metro map ahead to see which lines and directions you have to go to get to Rue Cler. IIRC you have to one metro and switch to a second one. Very important to keep your ticket until you completely exit the metro at Rue Cler. On the way back to the airport you will need the more expensive Airport all zone type ticket that is different than the carnet (sp?) tickets. I don't recall if you can supplement the ticket or have to buy a seperate one. In either case, having Euro coins available to use the ticket machine at Rue Cler. Select British/English flag to see the instructions in english and purchase the ticket to the Airport. Also, be aware of metro ticket scams that friendly strangers use. Edwin
