transportation from Amsterdam airport to river cruise port

I will be going on a river cruise August 7th and need to get from the Amsterdam airport to the river cruise port (uniworld) not sure how to do it. I've been told take a taxi but it seems very expensive, any suggestions?

That's another problem, I can't seem to find that out and when I ask the rivercruise company they also don't seem to know

Check with Uniworld....they should be able to arrange a flat-fee taxi trip for you from the airport to the dock....you'll also have to find out from them exactly where your cruise is departing from. I find it incredible that a cruise company doesn't know where its own ship will be! While they might not have a definite slip number yet, they should be able to tell you which of the main port areas in Amsterdam they'll be docking at. One is the area along de Ruyterkade, which is right outside the back of the Central train station in Amsterdam. The second is aabout 2 1/2 kilometers to the east of the train station, along Veemkade. The third is in the same area, the big new Passenger Terminal Amsterdam. In any case, if you have the time, the cheapest way to get to any of those port areas would be to take the train in from Schipol airport to Central Station, then grab a cab from there or, if your ship is leaving from de Ruyterkade, simply walk out the back door of the station!
